Located in the beautiful northern California Sierra foothills, SMC is a non-profit, Federally Qualified Community Health Center located 20 minutes west of Lassen National Park and approximately 30 miles east of Redding.

Nurse Practitioner (Full Time)

    • Current and valid licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of California.

    • Current and valid California Registered Nurses License.

    • Current BLS/ACLS certification.

    • Current DEA certificate, including Schedule II.

    • Complete patient charting and billing within 48 hours of patient visit.

    • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

    • Excellent interpersonal skills.

    • Basic computer knowledge with electronic health records experience preferred.

    • The FNP will have appropriate backup by a physician and will not be required to provide services for which the FNP is not trained.

    • Knowledge of current therapies and ability to involve the supervising physician when appropriate.

    • Previous outpatient clinic experience.

    • DOT physical certificate preferred.

    • No after hour call required

  • Work as an integral part of our provider staff by participating in our medical/behavioral health team, QA/QI and additional staff teams with some home visits. You will provide and manage direct patient care, infants through the geriatric population. Our team will assist you in assuring the adequacy and appropriateness of medical care provided to patients.

    Work Schedule:

    • 4 -10 hour days with flexibility

    • Total of 32 hours patient care – 10 hours of admin time

Registered Nurse (Full Time)

  • Graduation from an accredited RN program required. Current California RN license and in good standing with the Board of Registered Nurses required. Current CPR certification required, ACLS preferred.

    Minimum one-year experience required. Experience in outpatient care and/or community health center preferred.

  • $45.00 - $50.00 per hour non-exempt commensurate with experience., Permanent/Full-Time/Benefitted

  • Provides direct patient care within RN scope of practice, including medications, immunizations, intravenous therapy, dressing changes and performance of in-house lab and diagnostic tests. Utilizes the nursing process to perform chronic care management, patient education and other RN-only functions. Performs chronic care management for patients with complex conditions or multiple comorbidities. Performs independent telephone and in-person triage and Coumadin management. Participates in the Rx refill process. May make home visits.
