The Shingletown Medical Center hosted its 4th annual Pre-Mother’s Day Spring Tea and Fashion Show on Saturday, April 26th, at the Open Door Community Church. The event was a complete success and all attending had great fun.

The room was absolutely stunning with tables decorated by individual table captains. The medical center’s table won for “most original” table decoration and… it was definitely unique. The “most beautiful” table went to Jennifer Kennedy. Her table was decorated like it came directly from a Napa winery with beautiful grapes and vines and a soft mauve tone like a fine merlot. The fun continued with the “Hat contest” where Jennifer also won for Prettiest Hat and, for the second year in a row, Lois Silverbush for Wackiest Hat.

The Shingletown Medical Center would also like to thank all of the volunteers and sponsors who helped to put this function together, especially Kohl’s for their Associates in Action program. A big thank you goes to Amy Martina from “Bon Appetite Catering” and the Kohl’s volunteers for arranging a beautiful and delicious lunch of assorted finger sandwiches, mini quiches, fruit and an assortment of scrumptious sweet treats.

After lunch was served, the models went to get their make-up and hair done. Another big thank you to Dori Potter for doing the model’s make-up with her Mary Kay products and a thank you to Emily Hereford for styling everyone’s hair.

The children models began the “fashion show” and there wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd. They were all so cute and they definitely had some very unique modeling poses. The children’s clothing and accessories were supplied from “The Children’s Place”. The adolescent and adult ladies all looked stunning wearing clothes supplied by “Christopher and Banks” with each model showing off their own very distinct style. Mary Chambers was a huge hit with her very “professional modeling” poses and swagger. A huge thank you goes to the 2 stores from Mount Shasta Mall for supplying both the clothing and the lighthearted commentaries for each model. Duane Brovan and Andrea Penners from “Great Perspective Photography” took portrait photos while Bonnie Lee Fowler took photos of the models.

The medical center looks forward to sponsoring the event again next year and we hope you can join us!
