The Shingletown Medical Center (SMC) has added a new member to their staff and would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to Angela Boehnen, FNP-BC (Family Nurse Practitioner – Board Certified). In mid-February Angela came onboard to SMC all the way from Wisconsin. Angela will be treating patients along with Dr. Stockton, Dr. Lui and Michael Simpson, FNP-BC.

Angela began her study of nursing at the University of Wisconsin where she graduated Magna Cum Laude, and finished her studies at Concordia University of Wisconsin with a master’s degree in the “Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner” with a cumulative 4.0 GPA. Angela’s previous Registered Nurse employment in Wisconsin covered hospital placement in the Critical Care Mobile – Adult ICU, ER, and Neonatel ICU Units at Meriter Hospital and the Pulmonary Intermediate Care Unit at St. Mary’s Hospital.

“I came here from Verona, Wisconsin and I am the youngest daughter in a family of only two siblings. My hobbies are running (3 time marathoner), gardening, canning, baking, and camping.” Angela went on to say; “I know how to play the piano and clarinet. I speak intermediate level Spanish; and I love going on medical mission trips. I was in Tanzania for a month in 2011 on a medical mission, and I still keep in close communication with my host family!”

Angela brings with her a wide spectrum of experience and community involvement from programs such as the “Patient Education Project” where she developed and distributed a “Sleep Health Handout” to patients with the emphasis on prevention of sleep apnea and misuse/overuse of over-the-counter sleep medications. She also developed a “Community Teaching Presentation” on Healthy, Safe, Relationships to empower teens with the knowledge to choose healthy relationships & safeguard their lives.

The Shingletown Medical Center is proud to bring Angela on board and looks forward to many years together.

You can meet Angela in person and have a Chicken or Veggie Kabob with her at the at the Shingletown Medical Center’s “Meet the Staff & Board Barbeque” on June 24th.
