Shingletown Medical Center is pleased to announce the recent addition to their staff with registered nurse, Nancy Moffett. Nancy took the position effective April 7th, and has brought a tremendous level of expertise and experience to SMC.

Ms. Moffett was born at Mercy Hospital and has lived in the surrounding area for most of her life. She had worked at Enloe Medical Center in Chico for 4 years and then decided to come back to her hometown. Nancy was an RN on the Intermediate Care Unit and Orthopedics at Mercy Hospital for the last 6 years. “As much as I loved my job at Mercy, the call to just stay up on the mountain lead me to come to work at the Medical Center… and I am blessed; every day I come to work with the amazing people I work with and the population we serve,” stated Nancy. “I moved back to Shingletown 2 years ago after being gone almost 10 years, and just recently married an amazing man. I have 4 beautiful children and 3½ grandkids who might just be the most amazing creatures ever!”

Nancy went on to say; “I like to sail, swim, sew, enjoy the view from my deck, and I am involved in a medieval recreation group called the SCA that I love. My secret skills are I decorate cakes (professionally) and know how to Belly Dance. I decided to become a nurse because of my mother who was also a registered nurse. She seemed to love her job so very much and I wanted to have that feeling about my work.”

Tami Fraser, CEO, Shingletown Medical Center stated, “We are very excited about having Nancy join our group and look forward to our community getting to know her. The medical center will be hosting the 21st Annual National Senior Health & Fitness Day event on Wednesday, May 28th from 11:00AM to 2:00PM. This event will take place at the Open Door Community Church. Nancy Moffett, RN, will be present at the event, so please come by to meet and chat with her.”
