November 28, 2017 –
The staff and board members of Shingletown Medical Center (SMC) would again like to thank everyone involved in our first participation with the North State Giving Tuesday last fall. We would also like to announce that Shasta Regional Community Foundation is hosting the program again this year with support from Redding Bank of Commerce and Pacific Power. SMC, along with about 120 other non-profits in the area, SMC will be participating in the event .
North State Giving Tuesday takes place each year after Thanksgiving during the nationally recognized day for giving back – Giving Tuesday. Everyone is invited to “give where you live” for the benefit of the local nonprofits that do so much good work in Shasta and Siskiyou counties.
SMC’s goal for this campaign is to raise $8,000 which will be used to offset the cost of purchasing a vehicle for the clinic. It will enable providers and support staff to make home visits for patients that are bed-bound or have transportation issues. It will also be used to transport patients to Redding for specialist appointments, imaging, and substance abuse treatment.
This year’s event will take place on November 28th from 6:00am to 8:00pm and in addition to extending the hours, there is one more exciting change! Donations can now be scheduled in advance at www.northstategives.org because we know how busy this time of year can be. Starting on November 14th the website will be accepting your scheduled gifts.
Your donations can also be dropped off or mailed in advance. Donation cards are available at the medical center located at 31292 Alpine Meadows Road, Shingletown. Donations can also be accepted by phone (530) 474-3390 or online via Paypal on the SMC website at https://shingletownmedcenter.org/.
For every $50.00 donated, Shingletown Medical Center will send an drawing ticket for a $500.00 VISA Card to be selected at the end of the fiscal year – June 2018.
