Introducing a New Member to the Shingletown Medical Center

Patty GomezThe Shingletown Medical Center (SMC) is excited to announce a new member to their behavior health team. Patty Gomez-Gillard, Licensed Clinical Social Worker has joined the team that include Dr. Jewkes; Board Certified Psychiatrist, Colleen Cambra; Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and Kelly Bullan; Clinical and Behavioral Health Case Manager.

Patty Gomez-Gillard worked for 10 years as a music recording studio manager in the San Francisco Bay area and then went from rock to recovery. After spending many hours informally counseling musicians in the recording studio and backstage for everything from performance anxiety to substance abuse, she realized that she wanted to pursue a second career as a psychotherapist.

Patty returned to school, obtained a Master’s degree in Social Work and worked as a substance use disorder counselor. Moving to Shasta County in 2003, Patty has worked as a psychotherapist treating individuals with substance use disorders, intimate partner violence, sexual offenders and victims,
adoptions, and most recently, veterans and caregivers.

Patty speaks fluent Spanish, enjoys working with individuals from other cultures, and is expanding her knowledge in the field of Eco-Therapy, a theoretical orientation that provides tools and interventions from nature to help clients with mental health disorders. Kayaking, hiking and providing environmental education to the public are just a few of Patty’s interests.

Please join SMC’s staff and board members in welcoming Patty to our medical center and to our community.
